A late 20th-century Romanian oak side table or joint stool in the 17th-century revival style, manufactured by Mobex in Tirgu Mures. The stool features a square solid oak top with a rounded edge positioned over a frieze carved with a repeating pattern of recessed ovals. It is supported by four turned legs terminating in square block feet, all joined by a perimeter box stretcher. The piece is finished with a dark oak stain and a high-gloss lacquer. A partial paper label is adhered to the underside identifying the manufacturer as Mobex, Romania.
Condition report:
The stool is in good used condition. There are visible surface scratches and minor finish wear to the top. The legs and feet show light scuffing and small indentations consistent with domestic use. The structure is sound.
