A United Kingdom 2005 Brilliant Uncirculated two pound bimetallic coin issued by the Royal Mint to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the Gunpowder Plot. The coin is constructed with a yellow nickel-brass outer ring and a silver-coloured cupro-nickel inner core. The reverse design, created by Peter Dasent, features a stylised arrangement of a mace, sword, and crosier in a circular pattern, surrounded by thirteen stars. It bears the incised inscriptions 1605 * 2005 and TWO POUNDS. The obverse depicts the fourth portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley. The coin is presented in its original Royal Mint illustrated card folder, which includes historical details about the conspirators and a facsimile signature of Guido Fawkes.
Condition report:
The coin is in brilliant uncirculated condition, showing full mint lustre and no evidence of circulation wear. The presentation folder is well-preserved with only minor shelf wear and light creasing to the edges consistent with its age.
