A 925 silver 10 Years Safe Driving medal issued by the National Safety First Association. The award features a ten-pointed star with a central circular enameled medallion inscribed NATIONAL SAFETY FIRST ASSOCIATION and SAFETY FIRST. It is suspended from a green and orange striped ribbon mounted with five silver bars featuring foliate borders, dated consecutively from 1933 to 1937. The reverse of the medal is engraved AWARDED TO G. MASON and bears Birmingham hallmarks including the maker mark D&D for Davis and Derry, the anchor city mark, the lion passant, and the date letter j for 1933. The upper suspension bar is similarly dated 1933.
Condition report:
The silver exhibits an aged patina with tarnishing across the medal and bars. The central enamel work remains intact without visible loss. The ribbon shows light surface wear and minor fraying at the edges, consistent with age.
