This lot comprises two pieces of English decorative porcelain. The first is a large circular bowl with a scalloped rim and a short pedestal foot, featuring hand-painted fruit decoration in the style of the Aynsley Orchard Gold pattern. The interior and exterior surfaces are adorned with fruit studies including pears, purple plums, and grapes, set against a background of concentric tan and brown mottled brushwork. The rim and foot are finished with a thick band of gilding. The second item is a two-handled porcelain loving cup with a flared rim and gilded handles and base. The exterior features a hand-painted pastoral scene of a woman and child with lambs in a meadow, set against a yellow ground. The interior is white. No maker’s marks are visible on either item.
Bowl diameter: 20.3 cm (8 inches)
Bowl height: 11.4 cm (4.5 inches).
Condition report:
Both items appear to be in good overall condition with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs. There is some minor age-related rubbing and wear to the gilding, most notably on the scalloped rim of the fruit bowl. The hand-painted decoration remains well-preserved and bright on both pieces.
