A set of proof coinage issued by the Royal Mint for the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland in 1982. The collection includes denominations of 50 pence, 20 pence, 10 pence, 5 pence, 2 pence, 1 penny, and a half-penny, as well as a square Royal Mint commemorative token featuring the Royal Arms. All coins bear the second portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Arnold Machin on the obverse. This set marks the first year of issue for the twenty pence denomination. The coins are struck in cupro-nickel and bronze with a proof finish, characterized by mirrored fields and frosted relief. The coins remain in uncirculated proof condition as issued, sealed within the original display card. The outer blue folder exhibits minor signs of shelf wear, with light rubbing to the corners and edges.
