A struck gold commemorative medal produced to mark the 2023 coronation of King Charles III. The obverse features a crowned portrait of the monarch facing left, surrounded by the legend THE CORONATION OF HIS MAESTY KING CHARLES III and a banner inscribed 6 MAY 2023. The reverse displays a central crowned royal monogram CR III set within a decorative circular border, encircled by the legend CHARLES III · KING OF THE UNITED KINGDOM · DEI GRATIA REX. A fineness mark of 999 is struck into the reverse field. The piece is held in a clear protective capsule and mounted in a square black and clear acrylic display block with silver-toned corner studs. The lot is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity (Echtheits-Zertifikat) printed in German, English, and French, bearing the serial number 01795.
Condition report:
Uncirculated. The medal exhibits a high-lustre proof-like finish with no visible surface marks, wear, or toning. The acrylic display case and accompanying certificate are in excellent condition with minimal signs of handling.
