Struck in cupro-nickel with a Brilliant Uncirculated finish, the coin is presented in its original illustrated folder featuring photographic imagery and technical specifications. The reverse, designed by Mark Richards FRBS, depicts a profile portrait of Prince Philip facing left with the encircling legend PRINCE PHILIP 90TH BIRTHDAY FIVE POUNDS 2011. The obverse features the fourth definitive coinage portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley FRBS. This issue had a maximum mintage of 250,000, with 50,000 produced for this specific limited edition presentation.
