This numismatic item is a commemorative gold-plated medal from the British Banknotes collection. The obverse features the inscription BRITISH BANKNOTES positioned above a central decorative cartouche depicting a seated figure of Britannia with a staff and shield, surmounted by a lion crest and framed by ornate scrollwork. The reverse is inscribed THE 10 SHILLING BANKNOTE and PORTRAIT SERIES C. The reverse design includes a colourised miniature reproduction of a Bank of England Series C ten-shilling banknote, serial number A52N 625117, featuring the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. The background features engine-turned guilloche patterns characteristic of banknote design, alongside a smaller line-art depiction of Britannia. The piece is struck in base metal with gold plating and a colourised application, presented in a clear protective acrylic capsule.

Uncirculated. The medal exhibits a high-lustre, proof-like finish with reflective fields and no visible wear or handling marks. The exterior of the protective acrylic capsule shows light surface scratching and scuffing.
