A collection of United Kingdom cupro-nickel commemorative crowns and medals celebrating major royal milestones. The group includes specimens of the 1953 Coronation five shilling piece (KM-894), the 1972 Silver Wedding anniversary crown (KM-917), the 1977 Silver Jubilee crown (KM-920), and the 1980 Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother 80th birthday crown (KM-921). Several items are presented in their original branded Lloyds Bank clear plastic cases. Designs include the equestrian portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Gilbert Ledward and the Machin effigy. Inscriptions present include ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA FIDEI DEFENSOR, FIVE SHILLINGS, and ELIZABETH AND PHILIP 20 NOVEMBER 1947-1972. One commemorative piece is mounted on a red display backing within its case.
Condition report:
The collection is in uncirculated to extremely fine condition. Some pieces exhibit natural surface toning. The protective plastic cases show light scuffing and surface scratches consistent with storage and handling.
