This collection comprises a set of United Kingdom decimal currency coins issued by the Royal Mint for the year 1979. The group includes a heptagonal 50 new pence, a 10 new pence, and a 5 new pence, all struck in cupronickel. The bronze denominations consist of a 2 new pence, a 1 new penny, and a 1/2 new penny. The set also includes a rectangular bronze-coloured Royal Mint medallion featuring the Royal Arms. All coins are presented in their original clear plastic display case with a red textured insert and are accompanied by the original blue-grey card sleeve with silver-foiled lettering reading Coinage of Great Britain and Northern Ireland 1979.
Condition report:
The coins are in proof condition, exhibiting mirrored fields and frosted devices with high luster and no visible signs of wear or handling. The plastic presentation case is intact. The card sleeve shows minor shelf wear and light scuffing to the edges consistent with age.
