Buyer's Premium:

This 1970 United Kingdom proof coin set issued by the Royal Mint represents the final year of the pre-decimal currency system. The set is presented in its original purple display folder and outer card box, which is inscribed in gold lettering with the text COINAGE OF GREAT BRITAIN AND NORTHERN IRELAND 1970. The collection comprises a group of coins struck to proof standard: a copper-nickel Half Crown, a Florin (Two Shillings), and two Shillings (displaying English and Scottish reverse designs). The collection also contains a Sixpence, a nickel-brass Threepence featuring a portcullis, and bronze One Penny and Halfpenny coins. A square bronze Royal Mint medallion is mounted at the top of the display. All coins feature the second portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverses. Reverse designs include Britannia on the penny and the Golden Hind on the halfpenny. Each coin exhibits a proof finish characterized by polished mirror-like fields and frosted relief.

Condition report:

Uncirculated. The coins remain bright with high lustre and no significant signs of toning, clouding, or handling marks. The packaging is in original condition with very minor shelf wear to the outer card box.
