A large collection of fine English bone china produced by Aynsley China Ltd., predominantly featuring the Orchard Gold pattern. This extensive assortment includes multiple teacups and saucers, some with fruit-decorated interiors and others with full interior gilding. Plates of various sizes are present, alongside two large rectangular serving trays with scalloped, gilded edges and two large footed vases with double handles. The group further comprises lidded jars in hexagonal and octagonal forms, as well as tea and coffee service components such as teapots, creamers, and jugs. Decoration consists of hand-painted or high-quality transfer fruit motifs featuring peaches, grapes, plums, and berries on a buff yellow background. Several pieces bear the artist signature D. Jones. The collection is finished with heavy gold gilding to the rims, handles, and interiors. Also included are several coordinating pieces in solid turquoise, cobalt blue, and deep red glazes.
Condition report:
The collection shows signs of long-term storage with significant accumulated surface dirt and dust throughout. Several larger pieces, including the hexagonal jars and the footed vases, exhibit heavy brown foxing and staining to the glaze. Visible wear to the gold gilding is present on many rims and handles. Structural damage includes minor nicks and chips to some edges, notably on one of the rectangular trays. Glaze crazing is observable across multiple items. Professional cleaning is required.
