A mid-20th-century British floral spray brooch by the maker David H. Phillips. The design features four hand-modelled and hand-painted porcelain flower heads, resembling anemones or poppies, in shades of pink, blue, red, and green. These are set within a 925 silver frame depicting a cluster of stems with openwork foliate details, tied at the base with a decorative ribbon. The reverse is stamped with the maker mark DHP and a full set of British hallmarks for London, 1951, including the leopard head, lion passant, and date letter q. The stem is also impressed with the registration mark REG DES APP NO 865070. The brooch is fitted with a long steel pin and a traditional C-clasp.
Condition report:
The brooch is in good vintage condition. The 925 silver shows a light surface patina and tarnish consistent with age. The hand-painted porcelain flower heads appear well-preserved with no visible chips or cracks. The pin and clasp mechanism are in functional condition.
