A collection of mixed UK and international coinage housed in a vintage red lithographed Oxo Cubes tinplate container. The assemblage features a variety of UK pre-decimal bronze pennies from the reigns of Queen Victoria, with visible dates including 1896 and 1901, as well as issues from King Edward VII, King George V, and King George VI. Other denominations present include brass threepences, cupro-nickel sixpences, shillings, and decimal ten-pence pieces. The lot includes a 1977 Queen Elizabeth II Silver Jubilee commemorative crown. International currency is represented, notably including an Italian 50 lire coin bearing the legend REPUBBLICA ITALIANA. The rectangular red tin features white lithographed branding and an interior lid with a Royal Warrant transcription for King George VI.
Condition report:
The coins are in varied circulated condition, displaying wear patterns and toning consistent with age. Significant surface oxidation is visible on several of the bronze items. The Oxo tin displays surface scratching, minor areas of paint loss, and general wear typical of mid-20th-century advertising tins.
