Description
A contemporary Galileo thermometer of cylindrical form, constructed from clear glass and filled with liquid. The instrument contains five hand-blown glass bulbs of various colours, including red, orange, green, blue, and black. Each internal bulb features a suspended metal tag stamped with numerical temperature values in degrees Celsius, with 18, 20, and 22 visible. The main glass body is finished with a pointed, flame-sealed tip and sits upon an integral circular glass base. The upper portion of the glass cylinder is marked MADE IN GERMANY in small black print.
Condition report:
The thermometer is in good condition. The glass appears free from chips, cracks, or surface scratches. The internal liquid remains clear and the weighted bulbs are suspended at varying heights, suggesting functional operation.
