Description
A collection of pewter metalware items comprising four tankards and a footed bowl. The group includes a cylindrical tankard featuring two horizontal incised lines to the upper body, a design associated with the English Pewter Company. Also present are two bulbous-bodied tankards of varying sizes and a cylindrical commemorative tankard. The commemorative piece is engraved with the inscription MARRIAGE OF DIANA SPENCER, produced to mark the 1981 royal wedding. The footed bowl features a decorative relief band depicting a Celtic knot-work motif and is supported by a multi-tiered spreading foot. All items are constructed from pewter, displaying a characteristic matte grey lustre. No British silver hallmarks are present on the exterior surfaces.
