Description
A traditional-style dining suite featuring an extending dining table and a matching set of chairs. The table is constructed from mahogany-finished wood and features a veneered ovaloid top with shaped, scalloped ends and a decorative moulded edge. The tabletop is comprised of two sections with a central seam for extension, supported by a central turned pedestal base with four out-swept, curved legs. The underside shows a wooden frame and hinges, suggesting it houses an internal extension leaf. The accompanying set of chairs includes carvers with arms and side chairs. Each chair features a triple-hoop balloon-style back with carved scroll-work details to the central slats. The drop-in seats are upholstered in a contemporary cream-coloured fabric with a black and grey floral botanical pattern. No maker marks are visible.
Condition report:
The suite is in good overall condition. The tabletop displays minor signs of use, including light surface scratches and several small white marks to the finish. The upholstery on the chairs remains clean and well-maintained. The structural integrity of the table and chairs appears sound.
