Description
Philatelic numismatic cover (PNC) titled Guernsey Schneider Trophy Victory Commemorative Coin Cover, produced for the British Isles Coin Cover Collection. The cover features a Guernsey £2 multicoloured miniature sheet, Stanley Gibbons MS661, originally released in 1994 for the 50th anniversary of D-Day, alongside a Royal Mail label commemorating R.J. Mitchell and the Supermarine S.6B. Both items are cancelled with 13 September 1996 circular commemorative postmarks marking the 65th anniversary of the S.6B Schneider Trophy victory. Inset into the cover is an Isle of Man copper-nickel 1 Crown coin from the Aircraft of World War II series, featuring the Supermarine Spitfire. The item is part of a limited edition of 4,000, with this example bearing the serial number 1886. Accompanied by the original descriptive historical insert.
Condition report:
The cover and contents are in excellent, as-issued condition. There is no evidence of foxing, toning, or mechanical wear to the card. The coin remains bright and untarnished within its protective housing.
