Description

A collection of three publications and one framed print relating to historical ocean liners. The first volume is Lost Liners: From the Titanic to the Andrea Doria, the Ocean Floor Reveals its Greatest Lost Ships by Robert D. Ballard and Rick Archbold, featuring illustrations by Ken Marschall, published by Seven Dials, circa 1997. This is a large format hardcover with a dust jacket. The second publication is Titanic: The Story of the Disaster in the Newspapers of the Day by Eric Caren and Steve Goldman, published by Castle Books, which is an oversized softcover compilation of historical newspaper reprints. The third book is Titanic Voices: Memories from the Fateful Voyage by Donald Hyslop, Alastair Forsyth, and Sheila Jemima, published by Sutton Publishing in association with Southampton City Council, circa 1994, in a large format softcover format. The framed commemorative colour print depicts the Cunard liner SS Mauretania at sea with four funnels. Below the image, the text reads SS Mauretania in cursive script, followed by a description of its construction by Messrs Swan, Hunter and Wigham Richardson at Wallsend-on-Tyne in 1907 and its passenger capacity. The print is mounted in a cream-coloured mat and housed in a mahogany-finish wooden frame with a gold-tone inner slip.
Frame: 55cm x 30cm (approximate).
