Lot 267:
Description
This lot comprises two distinct ceramic groups manufactured in England. The first is an earthenware wash set by Old Windsor Pottery, Staffordshire, consisting of a jug and a matching basin. The jug features a shaped spout and a gilt-finished handle, while the basin has a scalloped, fluted rim. Both pieces are decorated with transfer-printed floral sprays of purple irises and pink blossoms on a white ground with gilt highlights to the rims. The base of the basin bears the Old Windsor Pottery shield mark. The second group is a five-piece bone china vanity set produced by Royal Doulton exclusively for the Cacharel Anais Anais perfume line. This set includes two small circular bowls, a saucer, a cylindrical beaker, and a rectangular trinket tray. Each piece is decorated with the signature stylised pink floral motif associated with the fragrance. The bases are marked with the Royal Doulton lion and crown backstamp alongside the Cacharel branding.
Condition report:
The wash jug and basin are in generally good condition with some adhesive residue to the underside of the basin and minor rubbing to the gilt on the jug handle consistent with use. The Royal Doulton vanity set is in excellent condition with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs.
