Lot 266:
Description
A trio of detailed naval ship models, each mounted on an individual rectangular black display base with an affixed brass-coloured metal nameplate. The collection comprises the British battlecruiser HMS Hood, the German battleship Bismarck, and the British battleship HMS Prince of Wales. The models are constructed from painted resin or plastic components. The Bismarck model is finished with a distinctive grey, white, and black dazzle camouflage pattern to the hull. Each model features intricate deck details including turrets, lifeboats, and superstructure elements. These models are in the style of those produced for maritime partwork collections such as Atlas Editions. No manufacturer marks, scales, or patent numbers are visible on the exterior components of the models or bases.
Condition report:
All three models exhibit a significant accumulation of surface dust and fine debris across the decks and superstructures. The HMS Hood model shows a light-coloured residue or surface oxidation across the deck and upper components. The nameplates show some surface tarnishing and pitting.
