This 1994 Bank of England 300th Anniversary Philatelic Numismatic Cover was issued by Mercury as part of the Coins & Stamps of the World series. The lot comprises a United Kingdom nickel-brass 2 pound commemorative coin and a Royal Mail 1st class red definitive postage stamp. The coin reverse features the Bank of England corporate seal type, while the obverse depicts the Raphael Maklouf portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. The stamp is cancelled with a pictorial first day of issue postmark dated 1 March 1994 from London EC2.
