Description
A group of British Second World War campaign medals presented in a wooden and glass display frame. The collection comprises a bronze 1939-45 Star, an Africa Star, and a Burma Star, each featuring the royal GRI/VI monogram. These are accompanied by a cupro-nickel Defence Medal and a 1939-1945 War Medal, both depicting the effigy of King George VI on the obverse. The War Medal ribbon is fitted with a bronze oak leaf emblem signifying the recipient was Mentioned in Despatches (M.I.D.). An included handwritten identification tag attributes the set to Lt-Col A.A. Nicholas, M.C., of the 15th Punjab Regiment. The medals are suspended from their respective silk ribbons.
Frame: 21.5cm x 17.5cm.
Condition report:
The medals exhibit minor surface tarnishing consistent with age. The silk ribbons show some fading and light wear. The wooden display frame shows general wear, accumulated dust behind the glass, and slight structural separation at the lower corners.
