Description

A First World War 1914-15 Star campaign medal and a military sweetheart brooch. The 1914-15 Star is a bronze four-pointed star featuring crossed swords and a central laurel wreath surrounding the GV cipher, topped with a crown. The reverse is officially impressed with the recipient details 15280 PTE. J. BURTON YORK & LANC. R. The silver-toned sweetheart brooch is designed as a horseshoe inscribed S. AFRICA 1900, surrounding a crowned bugle horn with the number 51 to the centre and a scroll below. The brooch is fitted with a pin fastener and C-clasp to the reverse.


Condition report:

Both items exhibit age-related tarnish and surface wear consistent with age. The 1914-15 Star is presented without its original silk ribbon. The brooch pin and clasp remain functional.
