Lot 313:
Description
A group of decorative brassware comprising a lidded kettle, two tankards, and a small hand bell. The kettle and tankards are constructed from brass and feature hand-etched or incised floral, foliate, and geometric patterns, in a style often associated with Moroccan or Indian metalwork. The lidded kettle includes a fixed side handle and a shaped swing top handle with a finial lid. The two tankards feature similar etched decoration and curved handles. The small hand bell is cast in brass in the form of a woman in traditional Welsh costume, featuring a tall hat and a detailed apron. No maker’s marks, signatures, or hallmarks are visible on the exterior surfaces.
Condition report:
The items exhibit a naturally aged patina throughout. There is visible surface oxidation and wear consistent with age and use. The etched details remain legible. No significant dents or structural repairs are evident from visual inspection.
