Description
A trio of commemorative covers celebrating British military and aviation milestones, including issues produced by Mercury. The collection comprises a 50th Anniversary of the Berlin Airlift cover, postmarked 12th May 1999 at Grahame Park Way, London, featuring an inset gold-toned commemorative medal and numbered 0267. The second item is a Royal Air Force 80th Anniversary commemorative cover from 1998, featuring an inset Guernsey five-pound coin and postmarked 1st April 1998 at Halton Camp, Bucks, numbered 6548. The final item is a 50th Anniversary of D-Day cover, postmarked 6th June 1994 at Portsmouth, featuring a strip of five themed twenty-five pence stamps and an inset heptagonal fifty-pence coin. Each item consists of a decorative cardstock envelope with official postage stamps, specialised postmarks, and an integrated commemorative coin or medal.
Condition report:
The covers are in well-preserved condition with minimal signs of handling. The cardstock remains crisp and the numismatic elements are securely held within their original apertures.
