Lot 230: A 1919 English Sterling Silver Folding Travel Double Photograph Frame

A 1919 English sterling silver folding double photograph frame of square form. The diptych construction features two identical polished frames joined by a central barrel hinge, designed for travel use. Each interior panel contains an oval glazed aperture for a photograph, set within a plain square silver mount. The interior lower edge of the right-hand frame is struck with a full set of British hallmarks including a maker’s mark consisting of the characters A, G, &, S, and A in a rectangular surround, the lion passant for sterling silver, the anchor for the Birmingham Assay Office, and the date letter U for the year 1919.
