Lot 200: A Sterling Silver Engine-Turned Box

A sterling silver box of rectangular form with rounded corners and a hinged lid. The exterior surfaces are decorated with an all-over intricate engine-turned wave pattern. The lid opens on a four-part hinge to reveal a plain, undecorated interior. The flat base of the box bears the engraved name C.MAPPLEBECK in serif capitals. Stamped beneath this name are two rectangular punches reading STERLING and SILVER. No other assay marks or date letters are visible.
