Lot 7: A Footed Porcelain Bowl Signed H. Mellor, Fruit Painted Decoration

A circular porcelain footed bowl featuring a flared rim and a heavily gilded exterior base. The bowl is decorated with hand-painted still-life fruit scenes in the tradition of Worcester artists. The exterior shows a cluster of blue grapes and two apples set against a painterly background of yellow, green, and red tones. The interior is similarly decorated with a central motif depicting two apples, blue grapes, blackberries, and acorns against a mottled yellow and brown ground. The interior rim is finished with a broad band of gilding. A hand-painted signature in black script reading H. MELLOR is visible on the interior, situated above the leaf of the uppermost apple. No other maker’s marks, stamps, or labels are visible.
