Lot 164: A Collection of UK and Commonwealth First Day Covers and Stamps

This lot comprises a collection of philatelic material housed in a red binder and loose stock sheets. The collection features several First Day Covers, including UK issues from 1979 such as a Horse Racing series bearing a circular date stamp for DERBY, 6 JUN 1979. Also present are coin first day covers commemorating royalty, including KING GEORGE V 1910-1936 with a struck metal crown and QUEEN VICTORIA 1837-1901. Multiple stock sheets contain mint and used stamps from various regions: a set from BARBADOS depicts marine life with denominations from 1 cent to 25 cents; a 1977 series for SOUTH GEORGIA commemorates the SILVER JUBILEE; and other issues originate from the SEYCHELLES and ISLE OF MAN. The stamps are primarily perforated and display themes of natural history, maritime scenes, and the British monarchy. One cover is addressed to MR. G. GORTON, 1 SUTTON LANE, FOSTON, NR DERBY. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the items.
