A UK silver crown, featuring the left-facing veiled bust of Queen Victoria on the obverse. The monarch is depicted wearing a coronet and veil, with the struck legend VICTORIA D: G: BRITT: REG: F: D: encircling the portrait. The reverse displays the Benedetto Pistrucci design of St George and the Dragon, with the year 1898 struck in the exergue. The edge of this denomination typically bears the regnal year in raised lettering. The coin is struck in .925 fineness silver.
Condition report:
The coin shows signs of circulation and handling. The obverse displays moderate wear to the high points of the hair, crown, and veil, accompanied by numerous fine surface scratches and contact marks across the field and portrait. The reverse exhibits wear to the figure of St George and the horse, with similar contact marks and a dark, uneven patina concentrated around the legends and rim. No protective capsule or case is supplied.
