Lot 267: A Collection of Ancient Roman Bronze Coins
This lot comprises several ancient Roman bronze coins, including nummi and other low-denomination issues. The obverses show profile portraits of emperors with laureate or diadem headgear. One coin bears a partial struck legend reading P N V and A V G. The reverse designs feature several common Late Roman types: one specimen displays the inscription VOT XX within a laurel wreath; another coin is of the GLORIA EXERCITVS type, depicting two soldiers standing with military standards. A larger coin in the group features the FEL TEMP REPARATIO type, showing a soldier in the act of spearing a fallen horseman. The coins exhibit irregular edges consistent with ancient striking methods and have dark brown to olive-green patination. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the items.
