Lot 82: A Contemporary White Swivel Desk Chair With Five-Spoke Base

A contemporary desk chair featuring a single-piece molded plastic seat and backrest of ergonomic form. The white plastic shell is mounted onto a grey powder-coated metal pedestal base with a five-spoke star configuration. The base is equipped with five black plastic dual-wheel casters. The seat is secured to the pedestal via a central screw-post mechanism, which allows for swivel movement and manual height adjustment. The chair presents a minimalist aesthetic with clean lines and rounded edges to the seat pan and backrest. Markings are visible on the upper backrest and the centre of the seat, however, these are not legible as manufacturer’s marks or signatures. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the item.
Condition report:
The chair shows signs of heavy use and wear consistent with its material. There are multiple grey surface scuffs and marks across the upper portion of the backrest (photo 2). A significant area of surface wear and a deep scratch or chip is located in the central well of the seat pan (photo 2). General surface scratching and minor dirt are present throughout the plastic shell and metal base (photo 1). The casters and swivel mechanism show surface marking.
