A pair of traditional lace-up clogs featuring mahogany brown leather uppers and carved wooden soles. The uppers are designed with a three-eyelet lacing system, dark brown woven laces, and decorative double-row stitching. The leather is secured to the wooden base by a continuous row of brass-toned metal studs around the perimeter. The carved wooden soles feature a slight heel and are finished with textured black rubber outsoles on the forefoot and heel. Accompanying the shoes is a printed document from the HALLIWELL LOCAL HISTORY SOCIETY titled FLEMISH W…, which discusses the historical use of such footwear in Northern England. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the shoes.

Condition report:

The shoes are in excellent condition. The leather uppers show minor surface scuffs, notably a small mark on the toe of the left shoe (photo 1). The wooden soles exhibit natural grain variations and very light handling marks. The rubber outsoles show no significant signs of wear. The items are housed in a plain blue and white cardboard box.
