A pair of Bank of England ten shilling banknotes from the Series C portrait series. The text reads BANK OF ENGLAND I PROMISE TO PAY THE BEARER ON DEMAND THE SUM OF TEN SHILLINGS. Each note bears the printed signature of the Chief Cashier J. S. FFORDE and the location LONDON FOR THE GOV AND COMP OF THE BANK OF ENGLAND. The top note is numbered 62Z 328741 and the bottom note B85N 527947. The reverse depicts a central seated figure of Britannia holding an olive branch and a trident, flanked by geometric scrollwork and the denomination 10 SHILLINGS. The notes are printed in shades of brown and reddish-brown on paper.

Condition report:

The banknotes remain in uncirculated condition with sharp corners and crisp paper quality. There are minor instances of light foxing and very pale handling marks along the margins of both the obverse and reverse. The paper shows slight natural rippling consistent with original press quality. No folds, creases, or pinholes are visible.
