Not sold
A collection of Royal Mail first day covers and commemorative presentation packs, housed in a tan textured binder with the gold-embossed title POST OFFICE FIRST DAY COVERS. The collection includes philatelic covers from the late 1970s to the mid-1990s. Notable issues include the 1978 CHRISTMAS set featuring carolers and mummers, the 1979 DOGS issue, the 1984 CHRISTMAS THE NATIVITY set, and 1990s commemoratives such as the 1995 SCIENCE FICTION set, the 1995 VE DAY anniversary cover, and the 1996 EUROPEAN FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP issue. The covers feature printed thematic cachets and are franked with commemorative circular date stamps, including cancellations from the BRITISH PHILATELIC BUREAU EDINBURGH and other regional offices. The envelopes are primarily addressed to MR A C EVANS in NORTHAMPTON. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the binder.
Condition report:
The covers are in good philatelic condition, generally clean and free from major foxing or staining. The stamps are well-presented with clear, commemorative circular date stamps that do not significantly obscure the designs. The binder shows some light shelf wear and minor creasing to the internal plastic sleeves, but the covers remain securely housed. No individual capsules or protective cases are supplied beyond the binder sleeves.
