A Raleigh Chopper Mark III bicycle, featuring a step-through frame with a fluorescent pink finish. The bicycle is designed with high-rise handlebars, a smaller front wheel, and a larger rear wheel, characteristic of the Chopper style. The frame is constructed from T6 heat-treated aluminium with visible weld beads. It is fitted with a dual-padded black vinyl seat, a tall rear backrest with a chrome-finished sissy bar, and a rear luggage rack. Equipment includes chrome-finished mudguards, plastic pedals, a kickstand, and a twist-grip gear shifter on the handlebar. A decorative plate located on the top tubes features a silver-coloured honeycomb background with black and pink graphics, reading LIMITED EDITION 1122 CHOPPER MARK III. The main down tube bears the yellow text CHOPPER with black outlining. The seat tube and chain guard are marked RALEIGH in yellow. The rear wheel is fitted with a gear hub featuring internal components. No other maker marks or labels are visible.
Condition report:
The bicycle shows significant signs of age and wear throughout. The fluorescent pink paint on the frame and chain guard is heavily faded and exhibits widespread crazing and fine cracking, alongside various scuffs and surface scratches. The chrome-finished components, including the handlebars, sissy bar, luggage rack, and mudguards, show visible surface oxidation, pitting, and rust. The chain and rear sprocket exhibit significant corrosion. The black vinyl seat and backrest have several visible cracks, with a prominent tear located on the upper left corner of the backrest. The rubber handlebar grips are worn with open ends, and the tyres show signs of age-related degradation. The mechanical functionality of the brakes and gears has not been tested.
