A Raleigh Chopper special edition bicycle, featuring a red painted step-through frame with twin top tubes and black plastic mudguards. The bicycle is configured with mismatched wheel sizes, a high-rise ape hanger style handlebar, and a black vinyl-covered padded saddle. The rear of the bicycle features a secondary padded backrest supported by a metal sissy bar with spring suspension. The drivetrain consists of a 6-speed Shimano derailleur system with a grip-shift style shifter and a chain guard. The frame is decorated with stylised flame graphics and bears several legible printed labels including CHOPPER in a grey font with black outlines, THE HOT ONE, and CHOPPER SPECIAL EDITION. The chain guard is printed with RALEIGH and flame graphics. The rear derailleur is printed with SHIMANO. A small circular decal featuring the letter R is applied to the crank arm. A red reflector is mounted to the metal plate on the sissy bar.
Condition report:
The bicycle shows significant signs of previous use and environmental exposure. The red paintwork exhibits multiple scuffs, scratches, and chips, notably across the top tubes and rear stays (photo 1 and 4). Heavy surface corrosion and rust are visible on the metal sissy bar mounting plate (photo 5), the suspension springs, the rear derailleur cage, the drive chain, and the bolts of the handlebar stem (photo 2 and 3). The rubber handlebar grips are worn with tearing at the ends (photo 4). The vinyl seat covers show light surface soiling but no visible splits (photo 1). The mechanical components, including the 6-speed shifting and braking systems, are untested and show visible oxidation to the chain and metal fixings (photo 3).
