Lot 262: A Veritas Mk.II Honing Guide

A professional woodworking tool designed for sharpening plane blades and chisels. The body is finished in black and features a wide roller assembly and multiple adjustment components. A raised cast mark reading VERITAS with a registered trademark symbol is present on the main body. The tool includes a horizontal top plate with stamped graduations and numerals 2 and 1, used for setting blade protrusion. An adjustment mechanism on the front face features a vertical scale with the numerals 1, 2, and 3 set within red, yellow, and green circular backgrounds, corresponding to an eccentric roller system for setting primary and micro-bevel angles. The guide is fitted with three knurled adjustment knobs and a side-mounted axle knob. The underside reveals a broad cylindrical roller and twin threaded clamping posts.
