Lot 173: A Pair of Stanley Plastic Folding Sawhorses
Sold for: £20
A pair of contemporary folding sawhorses, constructed from black injection-moulded plastic. Each unit features an A-frame design with a broad top rail and integrated tool trays at the base for structural stability. The top edges are fitted with textured pads for increased grip during use. The side of one sawhorse bears the printed maker’s name STANLEY in yellow capital letters. The top surfaces feature moulded technical information including weight-bearing specifications, though the text is partially obscured by surface debris. The units are designed to fold flat for storage and transport. No other maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the items.
Condition report:
The sawhorses are in used, fair condition. Both units exhibit significant evidence of workshop use, including widespread white paint splatters (photo 1), surface scuffs, and ingrained dirt across the bodies and legs (photo 3). The rubberised anti-slip pads on the top edges show visible wear and surface abrasion (photo 2). The folding mechanisms and integrated trays remain functional, and there is no visible structural damage or cracking to the plastic frames.
