Lot 12: A Baron China Staffs Ltd Fine Hand Painted Teapot, Apples And Grapes By Doug Hague

A ceramic teapot of bulbous form, featuring a high-arched swinger style handle, a curved spout, and a domed lid with a spherical finial. The handle, spout, and finial are finished with a bright gold-toned glaze. The body and lid are decorated with a hand-painted still-life motif of apples and grapes against a mottled, impressionistic background. The painting is signed D. HAGUE near the base of the fruit cluster. The base of the teapot bears two printed marks. The first is a circular green mark reading BARON CHINA STAFFS LTD, BEST QUALITY GOLD, FINE HAND PAINTED CHINA, and COLLECTORS PIECE, surrounding a central device consisting of a crown above two crossed paintbrushes. The second mark is printed in black text and reads APPLES & GRAPES BY DOUG HAGUE.
