Lot 97: A Zippo Windproof Lighter With Enamelled Plaque and Original Display Case
A Zippo windproof lighter, featuring a polished chrome-finish metal case. The front face is decorated with an applied rectangular enamelled plaque depicting the Australian national flag above the legend AUSTRALIA printed in blue capital letters. The interior mechanism includes a chimney with sixteen perforations, a standard wick, and a flint wheel with a cross-hatch texture. The lighter is housed in its original black textured plastic flip-top display case, which features an embossed ZIPPO logo with a flame motif and the characters USA printed in white at the top. The interior base of the lighter is not visible for date code verification. The lighter bears the word ZIPPO embossed on the outer plastic casing.
Condition report:
The lighter appears to be in unused condition with no visible striking marks on the wick (photo 3). There are minor surface dust particles and light oxidation visible around the flint wheel and the interior of the chimney (photo 3). The polished metal casing shows minor handling marks and light surface scratches. The black plastic display case is intact and functional with no visible cracks or losses. The original paper insert is present within the case.
