Lot 93: A Zippo USA Eagle On Flag Windproof Lighter
A Zippo windproof lighter featuring a polished metal case of rectangular form with a hinged lid. The front of the case is decorated with a printed graphic depicting a white bald eagle head in profile against a background of the American flag, set within a blue border. To the right of the flag graphic, the characters USA are printed vertically in blue. The lighter is held within a black plastic display case which features raised gold-tone lettering reading ZIPPO LIGHTER on the left side and LIFETIME GUARANTEE on the right side. A tan paper adhesive label is attached to the right side of the plastic case, bearing a barcode and the printed text 573 USA EAGLE ON FLAG. The internal mechanism includes a metal chimney with a sixteen-hole windproof configuration, a knurled flint wheel, a wick, and a metal cam. The base of the lighter is not visible for transcription.
Condition report:
The lighter shows minimal signs of use or handling. There is very slight fraying to the wick and minimal surface wear to the polished metal casing (photo 2). The internal chimney and flint wheel appear clean. The plastic display case is intact with no visible cracks or damage to the raised lettering. The original paper retail label is present and legible.
