Lot 92: A Zippo Work Series Z282 Carpenter Lighter with Display Box
A Zippo windproof lighter featuring a brushed chrome-tone finish and a decorative graphic on the front face. The graphic includes the text CARPENTER in a stylised black arch, positioned above an arrangement of woodworking tools including a circular saw with red housing, a framing square, a speed square, a spirit level, a hammer, and a wood plane. The lighter is housed in its original black plastic display case which features a textured lid and a gold-tone raised logo reading ZIPPO U.S.A. LIGHTER. The interior mechanism consists of a standard steel chimney with circular perforations, a flint wheel, and a cam. A white adhesive label on the side of the box base is printed with 250 WELSH FLAG, a barcode reading 0 41689 93742 3, and a handwritten 22 in black ink. The base of the lighter is struck with the ZIPPO logo and manufacturing codes, though the specific date codes are not clearly legible.
Condition report:
The lighter appears to be in unused condition. The chimney and wick show no signs of charring or soot (photo 3). The chrome-tone finish on the casing is clean with no visible scratches or dings. The plastic display box shows light surface scuffing and a small patch of adhesive residue on the right side of the base near the label (photo 2). The hinge and cam mechanism appear functional.
