Lot 316: UK 1977 Queen Elizabeth II Sterling Silver Proof Silver Jubilee Crown
A UK 1977 Silver Jubilee commemorative crown, struck in sterling silver. The obverse depicts Queen Elizabeth II on horseback, wearing a riding habit, surrounded by the circumscribed legend ELIZABETH II D G REG F D 1977. The reverse, partially visible within the presentation packaging, shows a central design of an eagle within a crown and floral emblems. The coin is presented in its original Royal Mint blue hardshell case with a red velvet-lined interior. An accompanying paper certificate of authenticity features the ROYAL MINT crest and states the coin is struck in sterling silver with a diameter of 38.61 mm and a weight of 28.276 grammes. The certificate text reads: The coin in this case is one of a number of silver crown pieces being issued in proof form in commemoration of The Queen’s Silver Jubilee. Each of the crowns is struck in sterling silver and has a diameter of 38.61 mm and a weight of 28.276 grammes.

Condition report:
The coin is in proof condition, exhibiting high luster and mirror-like fields on the obverse. No visible contact marks or hairlines are apparent on the struck surfaces through the protective capsule. The paper certificate shows a small reddish stain on the lower left side. The blue hardshell presentation case and red velvet interior appear well-preserved with no significant wear or fraying. The coin is housed in its original clear plastic protective capsule.
