Lot 308: A Beswick Palomino Gloss Horse Figurine
A ceramic horse figurine produced by Beswick in England, depicted in a walking gait with the front right leg raised. The model features a high-gloss palomino glaze with a white mane, tail, and facial blaze, and one white stocking to the front left leg. The anatomical modelling shows muscular definition throughout the neck and hindquarters, with pricked ears and an open mouth. A black printed mark is present on the underside of two hooves. One hoof bears a curved mark reading BESWICK and ENGLAND below. The other hoof bears the printed word ENGLAND. No model number is visible on the unglazed bases of the hooves. The tail is joined to the body with a visible circumferential seam.
Condition report:
The figurine shows a significant repair where the tail has been reattached to the hindquarters, with visible adhesive residue and a slightly uneven join at the base of the tail (photo 3). Minor shelf wear and darkening are visible on the unglazed undersides of the hooves (photos 4 and 5). No other chips, cracks, or restorations are evident from the provided images.
