Lot 28: A Pair of Gorilla Stands Height Adjustable Speaker Stands
This lot comprises a pair of speaker stands constructed from black powder-coated metal. Each stand features a heavy square floor base supporting a telescoping vertical pole. The poles are equipped with plastic locking tension knobs and safety cotter pins attached via lanyards for height adjustment. The top of each stand consists of a triangular metal support plate fitted with three upward-pointing metal isolation spikes. A rectangular adhesive label is present on each vertical pole featuring the text GORILLA STANDS in white capital letters stacked above and below a central horizontal line, accompanied by a stylised illustration of a gorilla. No other maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the items.
Condition report:
The stands show signs of regular use and handling. The black painted finish exhibits scattered scuffs, scratches, and minor abrasions, particularly to the edges of the triangular top plates and the square bases (photo 4 and 5). One of the metal isolation spikes on a top plate appears slightly bent (photo 3). Minor surface oxidation is visible around the welded joints and bolt heads where the protective coating has worn (photo 2). The telescoping mechanisms, tension knobs, and safety pins are all present and functional.
