Lot 255: Cook Islands 1975 Seven Coin Proof Set
A Cook Islands 1975 proof coinage set minted at The Franklin Mint. This set comprises seven denominations: one dollar, fifty cents, twenty cents, ten cents, five cents, two cents, and one cent. The coins are housed in a brown textured card mount within a clear protective acrylic case, further contained in a hinged orange fabric-lined presentation box. The one dollar, fifty cent, twenty cent, ten cent, and five cent coins are struck in a silver metal, while the two cent and one cent coins are struck in a copper-toned metal. The obverse of each coin features the profile of Queen Elizabeth II with the legend ELIZABETH II COOK ISLANDS 1975. The reverse designs include the ancient god Tangaroa on the dollar, a Bonito on the fifty cents, a Fairy Tern on the twenty cents, oranges on the ten cents, a Hibiscus flower on the five cents, pineapples on the two cents, and a Taro leaf on the one cent. The interior lid is printed with COOK ISLANDS PROOF SET MINTED AT THE FRANKLIN MINT. Included is a Certificate of Authenticity stating the set was minted in limited edition by The Franklin Mint, dated DEC 1 1975, and bearing the signature of Albert Henry K.B.E.

Condition report:
The coins are in brilliant proof condition with mirrored fields and frosted devices. No visible toning, spotting, or contact marks are present on the obverse or reverse surfaces. The acrylic case and textured card mount are free from cracks or significant wear. The presentation box shows minor signs of shelf wear to the exterior, but the orange fabric lining remains clean and intact. The Certificate of Authenticity is well-preserved with no tears or heavy creasing.
