Lot 233: A Hammersley Victorian Violets Fine Bone China Condiment Set

A condiment set constructed from fine bone china, featuring a scalloped-edge tray with an integrated scrolling handle and a central cylindrical holder. The lot includes two separate shakers modelled in the form of small birds, each featuring a cork stopper at the base. One bird shaker is perforated with a single hole at the crown of the head, while the other features three holes. The set is decorated with transfer-printed and hand-painted purple violets and green foliage, with gilded accents applied to the rims of the tray and holder, as well as the handle. The underside of one bird shaker bears a circular green printed mark reading HAMMERSLEY FINE BONE CHINA MADE IN ENGLAND around a central device of an acorn and oak leaves within a woven basket.
