Lot 213: An Assortment of Contemporary Beaded and Statement Costume Jewellery
This lot comprises an assortment of contemporary costume jewellery, including multiple necklaces and bracelets featuring various synthetic and natural-effect materials. The collection contains several multi-strand necklaces composed of graduated acrylic and resin beads in shades of amber, teal, dusky pink, and cream, some fitted with decorative metal spacers and end-caps. Also included are statement necklaces featuring clusters of concentric metal rings, one of which is mounted on a thick black rubberised cord. A collection of components imitating nacreous shell is present, featuring flat circular and organic-shaped discs in dyed teal and blue tones. The lot further includes two bracelets: one articulated cuff composed of dark grey metallic-finish rectangular and circular links, and one single-strand elasticated bracelet featuring teal rondelle beads and iridescent heart and leaf charms. The pieces use a variety of base metal fittings with silver-tone, gold-tone, and gunmetal finishes. No maker’s marks, signatures, or metal fineness hallmarks are visible on the clasps, tags, or beads.
Condition report:
The items generally appear to be in good used condition. Minor surface scratching is visible on the larger acrylic beads and metal rings (photo 1). The iridescent coating on the heart and leaf charms shows light wear at the edges (photo 2). One green resin bead shows a small internal fracture or surface mark (photo 3). The elasticated filaments in the bracelets remain intact.
